Patricia Brown


Patricia, known as “MsEdtechie,” is currently a Technology Specialist in St. Louis Missouri, and a current member of the International Society of Technology in Education (ISTE) Board of Directors. She is a national keynote speaker. Patricia is passionate about closing the digital equity divide through access and opportunity and sharing practical techniques to create meaningful technology interactions and make global connections. Among her many accolades, she was selected as a National School Board Association’s 20 to Watch in EdTech, an Apple Distinguished Educator, Google for Education Certified Innovator & Trainer, and in 2006, she was honored as Teacher of The Year. She currently serves as an ISTE Digital Equity PLN Co-Chair.

Lukas Hefty


Lukas is the Elementary Mathematics Supervisor for the Pinellas County School District in Florida, where he oversees mathematics curriculum, instruction, and professional development for kindergarten through fifth grade. He has spent the past 16 years in education as a classroom teacher, school leader, and district leader. In 2017, Lukas was recognized with the national Milken Educator Award. Lukas loves to create educational resources that support teachers and engage students in problem solving, critical thinking, and collaboration.

She is Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE), Apple Teacher, and the Global Google for Education Group Leader for the state of West Virginia.

Melissa Merz


Melissa received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She then received a Reading Specialist Certification prior to attaining a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. She has been a teacher for over 12 years. Melissa is proud to be a Next Generation Teaching Mentor. Learning, growth, and curriculum development are a huge part of her life. For this reason, she takes on leadership roles in Literacy, Math, and Blended Learning implementation within her school district. One of her greatest passions is helping others and teaching humanity to young children. Melissa does this through being a Random Acts of Kindness Service Coordinator for elementary students.

Jennifer is a 2011 graduate of West Virginia University with Master's Degrees in Elementary Education K-6 and Reading PK-Adult. She also holds an Elementary Math Specialist Certificate from Marshall University. Jennifer is the Technology Integration Specialist for Mylan Park Elementary, a PK-5 Elementary School in Monongalia County. Prior, she spent 6 years as a 2nd grade classroom teacher. She is a Google for Education Certified Trainer and in 2018, Jennifer was recognized as the Milken Educator for the state of West Virginia.

Sarah recently began pursuing her love of technology as a kindergarten through sixth-grade Computer Science teacher. She is a certified Level 1 Google Educator and is currently pursuing her 2nd Master's Degree, this time in Computer Science.
